Most of the warmblood Horses that carry and carried his carriages are from KWPN-origin, first they were chestnuts, like the team of his father. Soon Ilsbrand selectad a team of bays, who were very succesful for a long time with the impressive Paledo as the left front horse. Mark Weuthof lives in the Overijssel town Rossum and is a technical drawer by profession. He was taught four in hand driving by his father Theo, who was part of the Dutch top for 15 years. When Mark was young he was more interested in football than horses, he later combined the football with carriage driving, but after a while driving pairs and four-in-hand teams took up all of his spare time. Mark had just taken over Twents four in hand competition team of his father, when his father passed away because of an accident. In spite of this, Mark soon got a place in the sub-top of the national four in hand competition. From this he breached the gab to the absolute top in 2000: he came second at the National Championships and qualified as an individual competitor for the World Championships, in which he came 28th. After that accomplishment he became part of the A-team. At the 2002 National Championships he came third and in 2004 he became second. To enable Mark to compete at top level, the support of the Foundation of the Twents Four in hand Driving is of the utmost importance. It is a group of friends who operate under the motto of: many small contributions result in a big fund, they also financially helped his father before him. The horses of Mark, which are all greys, are registered at the riding horse section of the KWPN-studbook and also at the NRPS-studbook

Married, two children Anna (2001) and Pieter (2003)

Without a proper basis it is inpossible to be a top athlete, something that applies to Koss de Ronde as well. He definately wants four-in-hand driving to be his profession. Ever since he was a little child it was clear what his goals were: be a four-in-hand driver and reacht the absolute world top level. At the age of seventeen he had his first competitions (the minimum age was eightteen) that he won as well. In 1994 Koos won the national championships with his horses and an 1996 he startet to compete at national level only. Together with his brother Peter (born in 1978) they are youngest four-in-hand drivers in the Netherlands.

For years already Koos is one of the best drivers in the marathon – in 1999 he even was the best of his country – but also dressage is getting more and more important in his carreer. In 2003 he won both the dressage and the whole competition in Deurne, wo the competition in Oldenzaal and was silver medallist at the national championships, right behind triple World Champion Ilsbrand Chardon. His parents support him in every way they can and Koos is getting closer and closer to the world top. In the meantime, Koos has become a member of the A-squad, that consist of five four-in-hand drivers, and he will do his best in 2004. This year is very important, because the World Championships will be held in Kecskemet, Hungary in August. Koss qualified for the Dutch team because of amongst other results, he won the Dutch Championships 2004.

Four-in-hand Driving is a team sport, often a family sport as well and this can also be said about the De Ronde family. Besides Koos, also his brother Peter and father Piet are famous four-in-hand drivers in the national circuit, while mother Wieneke acts on regional level. Koos‘ wife is a driver as well, but also a judge on national level and she is the national coach of the Dutch single and pairs team.
